Eule the Yule Owl is coming to The Velvet Lotus Shop tonight and he wants you to get into the holiday spirit! Eule is Owl in German, so I scented these candles with the spices used in my favorite German cookie, the Pfeffernüsse! Pfeffernüsse is a small, soft cookie made from cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, star anise and orange zest. Absolutely divine! And it’s believed that these spices help keep the home protected from cold spirits during the winter season, that’s why a jar of these exact spices are handed around as gifts in Germany and surrounding regions.
